Short Note: As direct talks between Russia and Ukraine seems likely to start in Istanbul, I recall the joint draft agreement between Russia and Ukraine reached in 2022, but broken off, according to Putin by Ukraine at the insistance of NATO.
But Sir, could it be that once a problem festers beyond a certain point, then there is no good solution, or even no solution at all? For example, a tumor is easy to remove when small, OK to remove with some tissue damage while growing, and useless to remove when a tumor is too big? Mathematically, there is such a thing as "no solution to the equation set". If the situation in March 2022 was not as close to a deal as we are led to believe, then today the two sides are only further apart. I suspect continuing the war to the exhaustion of one party is better than trying to grab the hope of peace which did not exist since the beginning (assuming the beginning is March 2022).
