We run a 2% budget of defence spending yet we appear to be sending WW2 weapons to Ukraine because our defence industries always believe that we will fight the next war with the weapons of the previous war. Ukraine, with 25 million population is slowly being encroached upon by Russia with 140 million population. Ukraine is the bread basket of the west with major exports of food to the third world. This would stop if Russia manages to defeat them.
